Beautiful Smiles are Created with Cosmetic Dentistry | Riverside, CA

Cosmetic dentistry can create the bright natural looking smile you deserve. Whether you are interested in a complete smile design, restoring chipped teeth or want to whiten, we can improve your smile. Cosmetic Dentistry is composed of several different types of dental procedures. Dr. Gerald Middleton DDS of Riverside, CA offers some information on the cosmetic procedures he offers.

Porcelain Veneers – Fingernail-thin shells are adhered to the front surface of the tooth. Veneers can fix several aesthetic problems with just one treatment.

Whitening – There are at home whitening kits and in office whitening treatments. At-home bleaching kits use carbamide peroxide solutions to oxidize and bleach your teeth.  In-office bleaching (also called chair side, light-activated or one-hour bleaching) uses hydrogen peroxide gels and a heat or light source; these treatments lighten your teeth by six to eight shades in one to three visits, and sometimes less.

ClearCorrect – With ClearCorrect, we can straighten your teeth using a series of clear, custom, removable aligners. Each aligner moves your teeth just a little bit at a time until you eventually get straight teeth.

Inlays/Onlays – Inlays and onlays are frequently used to restore teeth that are severely damaged by decay or wear. They are usually applied to the chewing surface of the back teeth.

Congratulations Carla!

Our very own Carla Frey has been working on her “side job” lately – speaking to other dental professionals in the area of implant dentistry. We are very proud of the steps she has taken to further her education and her goal of inspiring others. It was a long road for her, but very well worth it. She tells about it here, in her own words:

I am devoted to ongoing education and personal development, to ultimately educate, motivate, and inspire dental professionals to provide our patients with missing teeth, a better solution and better quality of life.

My passion for education has always driven me forward to seek further knowledge. I found a niche with an organization devoted to international education in the area of implant dentistry, and became a member of ADIA/ICOI. I recently achieved my “international speaker” status after speaking in Toronto, Canada!

On Sept. 21 2012, I was inducted into Fellowship with the ADIA (Association of Dental Implant Auxiliaries), a component society of ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantology) at the World Congress meeting in Orlando, FL.

This achievement was realized upon completion of a three year process, to include ongoing membership, certification in 4 areas of study, over 170 hours in focused continuing education, presentation of lectures, and letters of recommendation.

I am sincerely grateful to Dr. Middleton for his unwavering support, and to the team of talented ladies I have the privilege to work with! I continue to be inspired by my professional peers and mentors. I have been forever touched by the patients we serve.

Nan’s Story

As October rolls around, we begin to see pink ribbons all around us – a reminder that we need to remain vigilant in the fight against breast cancer. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. More than 2500 women in Inland Southern California will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the next year. We hope you will join us in the fight against this disease and in recognizing the courage and determination of those whose lives have been impacted by it.

Nan (the first person you see when you step into our office) has her own story to share about her battle with this disease:
Join me in celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. As many of you know I am a breast cancer survivor of 19 years. Yippee! The day after my 35th birthday I was diagnosed. After a mastectomy, chemo, and radiation I thought I was done with it. And then, 6 years later, I did it all over again.

The challenges were many but the rewards have been endless. I agonized over maybe not seeing my kids graduate high school. My husband Rick and I not only saw high school graduations, we also attended a college graduation, 2 weddings and have been blessed with 3 grandkids. We are also looking forward to attending our youngest sons wedding this October.

Another reward, 15 years after that 1st diagnosis I underwent breast reconstruction. (See it’s never too late.) What a wonderful journey that was. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to give back, by sitting on the Image Reborn panel for breast reconstruction.

So please, women and you men, do a self breast exam every month. It may save your life like it saved mine.

In great health,

Nan Jones
